It's Heating Up! Is Your Pool Ready?

Those summer temperatures are finally heating up, and so is the water! But, have you checked your chemical levels, and is it safe for swimming?
The look of surprise is extremely common from our clients when we tell them how far off their chemical levels are. People tend to think that as long as the water is blue-ish, and chlorine tabs are still in the pool, that everything should be fine.
Wrong! So many elements effect water/chemical levels of a pool. It is crucial to check them all – and often!
“So what am I looking for?”

To start off, you want to have a good testing kit. The most common one that we see is the pool test strips.

Testing strips are generally cheap, easy to use, and they save time when testing. But, they are much less accurate than liquid drop test kits and they can easily spoil.

We highly recommend a good liquid drop test kit. They are highly accurate, last a long time, and can be used for more chemicals. Even the most basic ones at least accurately test the Bromine/Chlorine and pH levels.

Of course, the best thing you can do is hire us! 🙂 We check the chemical levels in the pool, sweep and clean your pool on a weekly basis!

Either way, be sure to check your levels regularly and often. The hotter it gets, the faster the chlorine will dissipate. The more chlorine that dissipates, the more algae and bacteria grows and makes it difficult to get under control.
